Mar 13, 2020. Chief Announcement Per Covid-19

Dear Community Members:

Due to the increased and growing number of potential and confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Oregon and in the Region, Silverton Fire District will be taking proactive steps to reduce any unnecessary exposure to our community, firefighters, and staff. We are taking these additional precautionary measures to help reduce the risk of exposure and community spread of this virus. Effective Friday, March 13, 2020 through April 8, 2020, the following will occur:

  • Suspend all use of fire station community meeting rooms by outside organizations and members of the public
  • Suspend all community fire station and apparatus tours
  • Suspend all non-emergency appearances by our first responders to community meetings and events to include neighborhood associations and community planning organizations

The health and safety of our community and first responders is our top priority as we continue to learn more and address the specific needs of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We fully recognize that this is an inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. We will continue to evaluate these precautions weekly and look forward to seeing you and your group soon.
